Frequently Asked Questions

What is a neurofeedback training session like?

30 minutes out of the day to relax and enjoy yourself! Depending on the client, Neurofeedback training is either performed with eyes closed or eyes open. In the case of eyes open, the “feedback” is provided through a TV screen, allowing you to relax and watch a movie. In the case of eyes closed training, you relax in a reclined position and listen to music through earphones. Either way, clients end up relishing the time as a haven from stress and the day’s hustle.

What does a typical training program look like?

The short answer to the question is, it’s hard to say. Everyone is different, and The Parker Group does not use a cookie-cutter approach to programs for our clients. Most clients have made significant progress in 20-40 sessions. We can provide you with a better idea of the treatment length once you come in for a complimentary consultation.

Are the Effects of Neurofeedback training lasting?

The answer is YES. Studies have shown that Neurofeedback treatment is long-lasting and, in many cases, permanent. Neurofeedback works by conditioning new synaptic pathways over and over again. Once these new, more efficient pathways are conditioned, they tend to stay that way. The brain prefers efficiency, and given the opportunity, will continue to operate in this manner.

Does Neurofeedback training interfere with medications?

Neurofeedback training is a safe and natural way to optimize brain function. There are no side effects, so it will not interfere with medications. However, we always advise discussing any decisions around medications with your prescribing physician.

How soon will I begin to feel results?

As is the case with program length, it varies from person to person. Many people feel a noticeable change within a few sessions, while others take longer. It depends on many variables, including cases involving trauma, underlying physiological issues, and overall awareness of one’s state.
